Not a Drop of Sympathy!

So while escaping a pursuer armed with a bucket of water, I (in a full-out run carrying my purse, a notebook, and a bag of fruit) attract the attention of another group of teens armed with water balloons. More running and dodging.

Let’s just say I arrived home with a wet back and bruised fruit. J

Happy Carnival, everyone… NOT! J

  1. With only a few days left until Carnival, the water wars are really heating up!

Today I was walking home (innocent, unarmed, and without a target on my back, mind you…), when I saw teens on the other side of the road playing with water… just like half the country’s population today, judged by how many water balloons were thrown at me!

Anyway, so they see me, and the one of them picks up a bucket full of water and starts chasing me.

I break into a full run, with my purse, notebook, and bag of fruit. A map falls out of my purse.

He picks it up. “Here! You dropped something!” (In a taunting voice, by no means offering to lay aside hostilities…)

“I don’t care! It’s just a map!” *start running again*

He half-heartedly chases me, stops, I turn around. He says, “Ok, we’ll make a deal. I’ll give you your map back if you let me dump this water on you.” (WHAT a deal, eh?)

So I start running again, and finally his sister grabs the map and offers it to me. Her bucket-armed brother is a little behind her.
I quickly retrieve the map, coming close enough to the brother to again start the pursuit.

While in a full run, I draw the attention of another group of teens armed with water balloons. There was no escaping them.

That incident was actually kinda fun. They sucked me into playing involuntarily, but chase scenes are always the best, right?

It's all the times when they just shoot cowardly from cars that makes me really mad! I never give them the pleasure of a reaction, however! Today I was buying the said fruit, and someone drove by slowly, squirting my back with water. I kept on talking to the lady without a flinch.

If I can't shoot back, at least I can take all their fun away. :)

  2. I know that I would have flinched if someone was squirting my back with water! =)

  3. I've started walking in a zig zag to be a more difficult target.
